BSE moves +ve - ends 16415 & Nifty ends green

Equities pulled back above psychological resistance levels following positive opening of European markets. All the sectoral indices were
in the green led by metals, banks and auto stocks.

Bombay Stock Exchange’s Sensex closed at 16415.91, up 189.23 points or 1.17 per cent. The index touched a high of 16480.49 and low of 16228.91.

National Stock Exchange’s Nifty ended at 4910.75, up 55 points or 1.13 per cent. The broader index hit a high of 4929.70 and low of 4857.60.

BSE Midcap Index was up 0.75 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.58 per cent higher.

Amongst sectoral indices, BSE Metal Index advanced 3.22 per cent, BSE Bankex moved 1.76 per cent higher and BSE Auto Index gained 1.20 per cent.

Biggest Sensex gainers comprised Tata Steel (6.57%), Hindalco Industries (5.27%), Sterlite Industries (3.39%), HDFC Bank (3.13%) and Bharti Airtel (2.4%).

Losers were DLF (-1.29%), Infosys Technologies (-0.64%), NTPC (-0.42%), Reliance Infrastructure (-0.39%) and ONGC (-0.28%).

Market breadth on BSE remained positive with 1681 advances outnumbering 1141 declines.
