But Thiruvananthapuram will witness a rare coming together of Congress and CPM leaders on Friday to inaugurate the new corporate office of Malayalam Communications Ltd, a CPM-backed venture which operates a bouquet of three channels — Kairali, We and People.
Union defence minister and senior Congress leader A K Antony will inaugurate the new multi-storeyed Kairali Tower, while CPM general secretary Prakash Karat will launch the ‘‘Studio Complex'' at a ceremony to be witnessed by the who's who of the political and cultural establishment.
Opposition leader and former CM Oommen Chandy will be the chief guest along with CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. Cinestar Mammotty, who is the chairman of Malayalam Communications, will deliver the keynote address.
