The Armed Forces Tribunal on Monday gave interim relief to former Military Secretary Lieutenant General Avadhesh Prakash in the Sukna army land scam.
The court granted permission to Lt. General Prakash to cross-examine witnesses who earlier gave statement against him before the Court of Inquiry.
According to Lt. Gen Prakash's lawyer, both of them were not present during the cross examination of the eight officers, who provided evidence against Lt. Gen Prakash's involvement in the land scam.
The court also ordered the re-examination of Lt Gen Ramesh Halgali and Maj-Gen P C Sen, who have also been indicted by the Court of Inquiry into the Sukna case.
The tribunal directed the Court of Inquiry to submit a report in two months and said it can decide on the court martial of Lt. Gen Prakash only after receiving Court of Inquiry report.
